Adolescence is a crucial period in our lives, and the experiences then, for better or for worse, help forge who we become as adults. There are a few events that are especially engraved on our vulnerable young egos, and one of them is the first romantic contact with the opposite sex. Many of us experienced that first contact at a school dance.

For a guy, actually touching a girl and holding her close for the first time is a huge deal, and every detail of the experience is likely to remain intact for a lifetime. I am sure the same goes for girls.

When one hears the song that one danced that first slow dance too, the past can come thundering up to meet the present, and we can re-experience either the magic, of the horror, of that moment.

I asked Jay Talkers to take a moment and recall the song that was the sound track to their very first slow dance.
