BOSTON (CBS) – Following his 20-tackle performance against Virginia Tech on Saturday, Boston College senior Nick Clancy has been named the ACC Linebacker of the Week.
Clancy, a senior from Plainfield, Illinois, led Boston College’s defense with 17 solo tackles and three assists in Saturday’s 30-23 overtime loss at Alumni Stadium.
Clancy currently leads the ACC with 127 tackles through 11 games. Saturday was his second 20+ tackle showing of the season, after he register 24 tackles back in September against Northwestern — which also earned him ACC Linebacker of the Week honors.
Saturday’s game was just the 14th time in Boston College history a player registered 20 or more tackles in a game.
The Eagles (2-9) close out their season Saturday afternoon against NC State.
