CONCORD (CBS) – A patient brought to Emerson Hospital’s emergency room appeared to be contaminated, requiring the hospital to secure the area.

The hospital ensured that all staff, patients, and visitors were safe.

The substance was later identified as road salt, which can burn skin.

The emergency room has been re-opened
