GLOUCESTER (CBS) – The search for missing Rockport toddler Caleigh Harrison resumed Wednesday, five days after a pair of pink pants washed ashore in Gloucester.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Bernice Corpuz reports
Mission for the Missing is leading the search of Good Harbor Beach, where the tattered pants were found in storm debris last Friday.
Five teams have been assembled to help and Gloucester and Rockport police were standing by during the search.
“We’re cautiously optimistic that if there was ever an opportunity to find something it’s going to be now,” Maureen Flatley of Missing for the Missing said.
Caleigh was last seen April 19 on Long Beach in Rockport, which is about a mile from where the pants were found.
Investigators believed she was swept out to sea, but family members have said she may have been kidnapped.
Harrison’s mother, who was with her daughter shortly before she disappeared, said she can’t be sure that the pants found Friday are Caliegh’s.
