WORCESTER (CBS) – The boil water order has been lifted in Worcester.
The Department of Environmental Protection put the order in place for the entire city after a 30-inch water main broke Monday afternoon near Worcester State University.
The pipe was repaired Tuesday, but residents have been without water, or had issues with rust or low pressure.
The break also caused a disruption of the water supply to the Elm Hill and Woodland water districts in Auburn, the town of Paxton, and corporate parks in West Boylston and Millbury.
Worcester State announced Wednesday afternoon that classes would resume Thursday morning.
