Fire Destroys Under-Construction Condo Complex In Raynham

RAYNHAM, Mass. (AP) — A large fire tore through an under-construction condominium complex in southeastern Massachusetts, destroying at least six units. No one was injured.

Firefighters from several towns responded to the Bella Estates complex in Raynham at about 7 p.m. Saturday. Developers were planning 55 townhouses in 10 buildings on the 20-acre property.

The cause of the blaze hasn't been determined. Officials from the state fire marshal's office have been called in to help local authorities with the investigation.

The units that were destroyed included at least six, 2,500-square-foot condominiums that were vacant.

The blaze drew firefighters from Raynham, Middleboro, Bridgewater and Taunton.
