BOSTON (CBS) – After a three-day stay at Boston Medical Center, James “Whitey” Bulger is back behind bars.

“The U.S. Marshals Service can confirm that James “Whitey” Bulger is in custody at Plymouth County Correctional Facility,” they said in a statement. “The Marshals Service does not discuss the healthcare or transport of prisoners in our custody.”

On Sunday, the 83-year-old was taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pains. Bulger has a history of heart trouble and was in the hospital last winter with similar symptoms.

The trial for the former FBI informant, is expected to begin in March but defense lawyers have asked for an extension due to the amount of documents involved in the case.
