Red Line Ride Turns South Boston 'Stroller Cat' Into Web Sensation
BOSTON (CBS) - A cat from South Boston has become an overnight internet sensation.
Photos of Jacoby, a three-and-a-half-year-old Abyssinian dubbed 'Stroller Cat" by Twitter fans, riding in a stroller on the Red Line have taken on a life of their own.
The buzz began when someone tweeted about 'Stroller Cat' earlier this week, questioning whether pets are allowed on the MBTA.
BostonInno picked up on the photo and after a short time and a lot of buzz, there were suggestions for Stroller Cat Halloween costumes and even a spoof @strollercat Twitter handle.
The Boston Herald interviewed the owner, Coco Koh of South Boston (@abyaday on Twitter).
She chuckled about her cat's new-found fame, saying simply that Jacoby has been riding the train his entire life.
By the way, cats, dogs, and even snakes are allowed on the MBTA, as long as they are secured.
