Bradley Jay: ‘There Is Nothing Cuter Than A Canine Costume Contest.’
And the winner is…….everyone who attended Saturday’s 9th Annual Costume Dog Parade and Fashion Show, sponsored by the Jamaica Plain Business and Professional Association and JP Centre/South Main Streets. About thirty pups were registered to walk down the red carpet and the event was a total blast. Interacting with the dogs and their owners was a morning well spent.
The competition was tough. One Cocker Spaniel was dressed in full hurricane gear, a black Labrador retriever was a skunk, and then was there was Jellybean the Corgi, dressed as a bag of jellybeans. Wonder Woman, a sailor, a dragon, a flapper, a piglet, and waffle all made an appearance.
The event reminded me what wonderful community Jamaica Plain is. JP is a gem that rivals any in the world for just being a darned cool place. After the event, I resolved to spend much more time in there.
By the way, congratulations to Roman the Cocker Spaniel, who was dressed ready for the super-storm, for wearing the winning costume.
