Severe Weather Brings Down Trees, Power Lines In Wareham

WAREHAM (CBS) - Severe weather caused problems on the eastern part of the state Tuesday night.

Thunderstorms that prompted warnings moved north through Massachusetts from about eight until nine o'clock.

In Wareham, trees and power lines were knocked down.

The Onset Fire Chief tells WBZ-TV's Jim Armstrong that there is an unconfirmed report of a wind gust that exceeded 100mph.

Boats that were taken out of Onset Bay ahead of Hurricane Sandy were also damaged.

Many people commenting on CBSBoston's Facebook page said that Tuesday night's brief storm was much more severe than the weather they got with Sandy the day before.
