DORCHESTER (CBS) – Boston police are investigating an apparent shooting overnight behind the old Dorchester High School that left one man dead.

Officers say a shot spotter activation alerted them to the shooting around 1:45 a.m.

Responding officers found a man suffering from a possible gunshot wound behind the building at 36 Whitman Street.

He was taken to Boston Medical Center where he died.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
