MANSFIELD, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts state police say two people escaped injury after their small plane crashed near Mansfield Airport in the southeastern part of the state.
Troopers say Mansfield firefighters worked to free the plane and its two occupants from the tree line near the airport on Sunday. State police and officers and firefighters from nearby Foxborough were also called to the scene.
Authorities haven’t released the names of the two people aboard the plane.
It’s not clear why the plane crashed. Investigators from the Massachusetts Aeronautics Commission were headed to the crash site.
