Locke Ober will close after having been a Boston institution for 137 years.
BOSTON (CBS) – A Boston institution, and a landmark restaurant in the city, has closed after over a century of business.
Locke Ober was the restaurant of choice for Boston’s power brokers and celebrity visitors.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Kim Tunnicliffe reports
President Kennedy used to meet with his “inner circle” there.
Now there’s a sign on the establishment’s door saying the restaurant is closed and the building is up for sale.
Chef Lydia Shire bought and renovated the restaurant in 2001, but it never truly regained its prominence.
