Good Samaritan Saves Teen In Fiery Dudley Crash

DUDLEY (CBS) - A car driven by a 16-year-old lost control and burst into flames in Dudley on Friday.

Police say three teens are lucky to be alive after the car flipped over hitting a telephone pole and bursting into flames.

Two of the teens made it out of the car, but a 14-year-old was stuck in the back seat and had to be rescued by neighbor Roger Brousseau.

"I didn't have much choice. It was either that or leave him in there and watch it burn." Brousseau said. "I had to get him out no doubt, but it was very scary."

Brousseau said he pulled the boy out of the back window. Less than two minutes later the car burst into flames.

"I climb through the back seat and pulled him out . I think he had two broken arms and he was bleeding pretty badly," Brousseau said.

The impact of the crash was so strong it snapped a telephone pole in half.

Witnesses say the teen driver was speeding in very rainy conditions.

The driver suffered just minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
