DENNIS (CBS) – A head on collision on Cape Cod has left two people injured and one dead.
At around 12:55 pm, Dennis police were called to the scene of a head on collision on Route 28 in West Dennis.
They found two vehicles on the sidewalk on the southside of Route 28.
The driver of the first vehicle was unconscious inside his vehicle and taken immediately to Cape Cod Hospital. He was later pronounced dead on arrival.
There were two passengers in the other vehicle. Both were treated for non-life threatening injuries. They have been identified as Paul Snyder, 60, and Margaret Snyder, 57, of Athens, NY.
Police reported that the first vehicle had left the road twice before swerving into oncoming traffic and striking the Snyders’ car head on.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated, but police do not believe alcohol was involved.
The identify of the driver who was killed is being withheld until the family is notified.
