NHL Cancels Games Through November 1

BOSTON (CBS) - The NHL has announced a second round of game cancellations due to the current lockout, cancelling games through November 1.

A total of 135 regular season games have now been cancelled due to the current work stoppage, as the NHL and NHLPA tries to work towards a new collective bargaining agreement.

There was hope the two sides were drawing closer to a deal when the league offered a 50-50 split of hockey related revenue earlier in the week, but the NHLPA came back with three different counter offers that commissioner Gary Bettman and the league owners were "thoroughly disappointed" with.

For the Bruins, this means three more home games are whipped off the calendar. Gone now are games against the Anaheim Ducks, New York Islanders and Buffalo Sabres.

It was the Ducks only visit to the TD Garden of the season.
