FOXBORO (CBS) — With just a few days before hosting their divisional rivals from New York, the Patriots were without two key members of their offense at practice.
Both tight end Aaron Hernandez and guard Logan Mankins were absent from Thursday’s practice session at Gillette Stadium. Hernandez, who returned to game action last week for the first time since injuring his ankle in Week 2, was listed with an ankle ailment, while Mankins was listed as having a calf/hip injury.
Both players had limited participation on Wednesday, which was a walkthrough practice.
Defensive lineman Ron Brace also popped up on the injury report Thursday with limited participation. Patrick Chung (back), Julian Edelman (hand), Rob Gronkowski (hip), Dont’a Hightower (hamstring) and Wes Welker (ankle) were among the nine players listed with limited participation.
