BOSTON (CBS) – The Southeast Expressway was closed while police searched for evidence from a fatal shooting in Boston Wednesday night.
The shooting happened on Southampton Street in Roxbury at about 6:45pm. An officer in the area heard the gunshot and saw a car take off from the scene and get onto I-93 South.
After a pursuit, State Police boxed in the vehicle on Freeport Street and arrested three people.
After a search, police found a gun on I-93 southbound, just south of Columbia Road. It is believed that one of the suspects threw the gun out of the car before they were stopped.
The victim of the shooting, a man in his 20′s, was pronounced dead at Boston Medical Center. Boston Police are investigating.
