FDA Issues Recall Of Dog Treats

BOSTON (CBS) - Check your dog treats before rewarding your pooch.

Nature's Recipe brand is voluntarily recalling a limited supply of Nature's Recipe® Oven Baked Biscuits with Real Chicken, manufactured in one of its U.S. production facilities.

The FDA says this is being done as a precautionary measure because the product may have been contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, the FDA says.

There has not been any reports of illness from this product to date, the FDA said.

Nature's Recipe Oven Baked Biscuits with Real Chicken is sold in 19-ounce stand-up resealable pouches. The product affected by this recall are identified on the FDA Website.
