CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — Exiled Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama is visiting Massachusetts beginning this weekend to give a series of talks and attend a concert featuring James Taylor.
The Buddhist leader is scheduled to give a talk Sunday titled “Beyond Religion: Ethics, Values and Wellbeing.” It will occur in Cambridge at The Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values, which is part of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The Dalai Lama will later attend a concert in Boston featuring a special appearance by Taylor. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter will be accompanied by Boston Symphony Orchestra cellist Owen Young.
On Monday, the Dalai Lama will focus on ethics, economy, environment, peace, governance and diminishing resources in a talk titled “Global Systems 2.0.”
On Tuesday, he will teach stages of meditation and discuss Buddhism in the 21st Century.
