John F. Kennedy Jr.’s monogrammed baby pin is among the items up for auction.
BOSTON (CBS) – Several pieces of White House history are set to be auctioned off Friday in Atlanta.
The items, which were headed for the trash, were saved by a longtime employee.
He collected everything, from Truman’s lighter to John F. Kennedy Jr.’s monogrammed baby pin to presidential cufflinks to rocking chairs.
Bonner Arrington was a carpenter at the White House for 33 years. His grandson, John Lloyd is selling the items at Great Gatsby’s Auction Gallery.
Arrington worked from Harry Truman’s administration through to Ronald Reagan’s, collecting memorabilia along the way.
Starting bids range from $25 to $12,000.
