BOSTON (CBS) - Former Red Sox manager Terry Francona will manage the Cleveland Indians next year, according to a report by Foxsports.com’s Ken Rosenthal.
Rosenthal cited sources that said an announcement would be made on Monday.
In eight seasons managing the Red Sox, Francona led the team to a 744-552 regular season record and won two World Series (2004, 2007). The Red Sox made the playoffs five times under Tito, posting a 28-17 postseason record.
He’ll join a Cleveland franchise that he once played for, batting .311 in 1988 primarily as a designated hitter.
