Robert Fitzgerald Diggs — better known as RZA, the de facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan — joined 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher & Rich in studio on Friday to discuss the success of the Wu, Quentin Tarantino and have a little fun playing “Guess the kung fu movie theme song” game.
How was RZA able to realize he could put together a collection of talented rappers together, then allow them to go solo? He told the guys that he went in with a five-year plan on how to handle Wu-Tang, and when certain guys would solo.
The guys also discussed a working relationship and friendship with director Quentin Tarantino. Tarantino is a producer for RZA’s new movie The Man with the Iron Fists, which comes out in November.
Being a huge fan of kung fu movies, T&R had RZA play a little game to see if he could name the kung fu movie from it’s theme song. How do you think the great RZA did?
