Convict Freed In State Drug Lab Scandal Arrested Again

BOSTON (CBS) - A convicted rapist, released because of the state drug lab scandal, is no longer on the run.

Marcus Pixley, 52, was arrested Friday morning in Quincy after police received a tip.

A warrant for Pixley's arrest was ordered Thursday by a judge hearing his drug case after Pixley skipped out on two hearings.

Pixley is currently charged with selling crack cocaine to an undercover police officer in February 2011.

Suffolk County prosecutors' argued against Pixley's release when his case came up last month.

The cocaine in that case was tested by former state lab chemist Annie Dookhan, who is at the center of the scandal that forced Governor Patrick to shut down the lab in August.

Pixley's bail was lowered from $5,000 to $1,000, which he posted. But then he failed to show up for the two hearings.

His criminal record dates back to 1977, with convictions for rape, armed robbery and assault and battery.
