Roche: New Start For Red Sox Begins Today

By Dan Roche, WBZ-TV Sports

BOSTON (CBS) – Happy Opening Day, Part Two!

It has been a miserable 2012 Red Sox season. We all know that. But, today marks a new start; a second Opening Day, if you will.

We now get to watch Ben Cherington and his Baseball Ops staff dig in and overhaul this ball club, and I am looking forward to it.

Read: Potential Valentine Replacements

As for Bobby Valentine… I thought at the time of his hiring that it was going to go one of two ways. Either it works like a charm and he leads the way into postseason, or it’s a disaster. There would be no in-between, and, that’s what we got.

Bobby Valentine will be let go. I don’t care to hear about how his season went either. The coaches, players, owners, etc. Who cares. It was an embarrassing year for all involved, and it is time to move on.

Report: Valentine To Be Fired By End Of Week

Bobby Valentine did not work. Thanks for trying Bobby, but good-bye. It’s as simple as that.

Let 2013 and beyond begin today.
