It was a year of celebrations and cherishing the memories as the Red Sox celebrated the 100th Anniversary of Fenway Park.
There was a huge opening day celebration, a big to-do for the 100th Anniversary game, naming a Red Sox All-Time Team and celebrating the eighth anniversary of the 2004 World Series win.
On the last home game of the season for the Sox the organization trotted out a poet to thrill everyone with some fantastic words. Yes, on the tail end of the worst season in years the front office thought a guy waxing poetic about the organization was the best way to end things.
Rich heard this and decided that he would write his own poem, a retort of sorts.
