Woman Killed After Being Struck By Worcester Transit Bus

WORCESTER (CBS) - A woman was struck and killed by a Worcester Regional Transit Authority bus Friday night.

Shortly before 9 p.m., police responded to a report of a pedestrian accident and found a woman lying in the road at the intersection of Sagamore and Grove streets. The woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The name of the victim is being withheld while police notify the family.

The bus and operator were on the scene when police arrived. The accident in under investigation. The driver of the bus has not been cited at this time.
