BOSTON (CBS) – Wide receiver Deion Branch is returning to the Patriots according to a report by the Boston Globe.
Branch was released by the team on August 31st, one of the team’s final cuts of training camp.
He had 51 receptions in 15 games last season for New England, finishing the year with 702 yards and five touchdowns. He has spent half of his career with the Patriots.
Branch is the second big addition since tight end Aaron Hernandez went down with an ankle injury on Sunday. The Pats agreed to a one-year contract with free agent tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. on Tuesday.
