Man Charged With Drunk Driving In Fatal Morrissey Boulevard Crash

BOSTON (AP) — A Boston man is headed to court to face charges in connection with a bicyclist's death last week.

The Suffolk district attorney's office says 47-year-old Michael Ahern is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Dorchester District Court on charges of motor vehicle homicide while operating under the influence of alcohol, operating to endanger, and speeding.

Authorities say Ahern was driving a pickup truck on Morrissey Boulevard south at about 12:30 a.m. last Friday when he struck 63-year-old Doan Bui riding his bike.

Bui was thrown from his bicycle and was declared dead at the scene.

Ahern called 911 for assistance and stayed at the scene.

It was not clear if Ahern had a lawyer.
