BRIDGEWATER (CBS) – A dispute between neighbors may have led to three homemade bombs being placed on the lawn in front of a Bridgewater home on Sunday.
Two of the devices exploded.
The soda bottles were filled with chemicals and left in Bob Lowder’s yard on Grange Court at about 4 a.m. Sunday.
No one was hurt, but the bombs burned patches of grass and charred a section of the sidewalk.
The third device did not explode and was detonated safely by the state police bomb squad.
“This appears to be an isolated incident, possibly a neighbor dispute. Residents shouldn’t be concerned at this time,” said George Rogers, Chief of the Bridgewater Fire Department.
He also noted that while no one was hurt, the improvised devices were capable of doing serious damage, adding that they could “absolutely” blow off a finger or hand.
There have been no arrests.
Rogers said whoever did it will be charged with a felony.
