WHITMAN (CBS) – Whitman Police are searching for a suspect they say tried to abduct an 8-year-old girl around 7:30 Saturday night.

It happened in the 300 block of Washington Street. Police say the young girl was unharmed.

Brockton Police are assisting in the investigation.

At this time, a description of the suspect has not been released. As of 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Police are still on scene investigating.
