Gov. Deval Patrick and U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano joined Warren at the rally at Boston University's Morse Auditorium, where hundreds of students and other supporters showed up Saturday.

With less the two months to go until Election Day, the race is already the most expensive political contest in Massachusetts history.

In recent days both candidates put out ads taking more direct aim at each other.

At the rally, Warren discussed her efforts to help working families in Massachusetts.

Warren is credited with proposing the federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau which enforces consumer finance laws.
