Stray Bullets Hit Haverhill Homes Near Gun Club

HAVERHILL (CBS) - Stray bullets from a gun club are winding up in a Haverhill neighborhood less than half a mile away.

Over the past few months, people have found bullets on their lawns, driveways and they have even shattered car windshields.

The bullets are coming from the Haverhill Hound Rod and Gun Club.

One man who did not want to be identified showed WBZ-TV a bullet hole in his vinyl siding. The bullet ended up in the basement of the home on Towne Hill Road.

"My first thought when I saw the hole was that there was a bullet with somebody's name on it and that something had to be done to resolve the situation before somebody gets hurt," said the homeowner.

Residents went to the club to voice their concerns, and say they have been responsive. The club has since closed the rifle range until a barrier can be built to prevent bullets from leaving the area.

The club did not return calls from WBZ-TV for comment.
