BOSTON (CBS) – A huge effort that includes about 1,000 volunteers from New England is about to make a big difference when it comes to medical care in Haiti.
Ever since the huge earthquake that rocked Haiti in 2010, people from all over the world have been working to get basic services working.
Now, a 300-bed state-of-the-art hospital is about to go on line that will offer service this impoverished country has never before seen.
Of the volunteers, 150 of them have been traveling down to Haiti to help with the build.
Boston-based Partners in Health and North Andover-based I.M.E.C. were the leads on the project.
