Welker: Brady Is 'The Toughest Metrosexual I've Come Across'

FOXBORO (CBS) -- Tom Brady, first and foremost, is an NFL quarterback, but he's certainly made quite a side career out of modeling and being, well, pretty. While the future Hall of Famer said Sunday that he hopes he's not considered a pretty boy, there was no denying that the big bandage on his nose didn't look quite right.

Despite his penchant for wearing fancy clothes, attending galas and posing in photo shoots, Brady's toughness is never in question with his teammates.

He certainly has the respect of receiver Wes Welker.

"Yeah, he's such a good-looking guy, isn't he? Obviously, he gets banged up," Welker said when asked about his quarterback's new look. "He's probably the toughest metrosexual I've ever come across."

A "metrosexual," if you don't know, is a colloquial term for a man who spends a little too much time preparing his clothes, hair, shoes or any other aspect of his appearance.

While Brady seems to fit that description off the field, he's as tough as it comes on the field. That grit was on display Sunday, when the knee or shin of 255-pound Kamerion Wimbley came flying through Brady's face mask and did some damage to the quarterback's nose. Brady was bleeding but trainers bandaged his nose and stuffed some gauze in his nostril to keep him in the game. He ended up leading the Patriots to a 34-13 win, throwing two touchdowns in the process.

Brady said after the game, while wearing a bandage at his postgame press conference, that he's not worried about any potential scars. In fact, he said he could use a little bit of a tougher look.

"I need some scars," Brady said. "I never mind a little blood."
