A strong surface high is establishing itself along with a strong 500H ridge which will stick around for the work and school week.

It’s a cool start to your Monday morning.
Temperatures are in the 50s with a few anomalous 40s in some neighborhoods.
It’s going to be a sunshiny day with gusty northwest winds. Highs will be near 70, plus or minus a degree or two.
Tropical Storm Leslie will make its closest pass today supplying high surf and dangerous rip currents. A High Surf Advisory will be in effect until 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Tuesday will be another day hinting that autumn is getting closer (less than 2 weeks away). It will be sunny, yet cool in the lower 70s.
Wednesday will be the beginning of a warm-up that will lead us to the weekend. Highs will reach the upper 70s, cooler South Coast.
Thursday and Friday will be mostly sunny and warmer-than-average as highs climb into the lower and middle 80s.
*Please be careful if you are hitting the beach or doing some boating today. Seas will reach 6-10 feet in areas farthest offshore (off Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard, Block Island, Outer Cape). Also, there is a moderate to high risk for dangerous rip currents.
Let’s make this a wonderful week!
~Melissa :)
