BOSTON (CBS) – Not sure how much you want to read into this, but the name plate above the locker that used to belong to Brian Waters has been removed.

The Patriots have waited for Waters to come back and help out the offensive line, but it doesn’t look like that will be happening now.

Roster cuts have come and gone, and then the Pats gave his number 54 to rookie Donta’ Hightower.  Now his locker is also gone.

Unless the Pats are planning to give him a new number and locker, it’s looking like he’s not coming back.

Many feel this is a money issue.  Waters was scheduled to make $1.4 million, and he wanted a raise.

The Pro Bowl right guard played in all 19 games last season after joining the Patriots late in camp.
