Police cruiser and pickup truck crash in Westford, MA.
WESTFORD (AP) — Authorities say an 87-year-old Westford man involved in a crash with a town police cruiser last week has died.
The Middlesex district attorney’s office confirmed that Thomas Courtney died Monday.
Courtney was the passenger in a pickup truck that was struck by the cruiser in front of the Nabnasset Lake Country Club at about 4:45 p.m. on Aug. 29.
The officer, who was not injured, was responding to a call. The cruiser’s flashing emergency lights were on, but its siren was not.
The truck driver’s name has not been made public.
A spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office tells The Sun of Lowell the accident remains under investigation.
