Politics: White House Releases Its Home-Brewed Beer Recipe

BOSTON (CBS) - After months of anticipation and mounting pressure from craft beer enthusiasts, the White House has finally released the recipe for its home-brewed beer.

Last year President Obama bought a home brewing kit and with the help from some home brewing experts, White House Honey Brown Ale was born.

The beer, which uses honey from the White House beehive, was followed up by a Honey Porter and a Honey Blonde.

The recipe has been requested by a number of home brewing fans.

A week ago, a California man took legal steps to get it. He filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the White House to find out the once-secret recipe.

The White House had 20 business days to answer the Freedom of Information request. It appears they obliged.

The recipe can be found on the White House blog.
