What a Weekend!

Highs today touched 90 in most towns including Boston for the 12th time this year but only the second time this month.  The heat is about to be swept out of here by an approaching coldfront.  That front is sparking some dangerous storms in Northern New England but when it arrives down here later tonight, no sun and limited moisture will only produce a stray shower or storm.

Behind the front fresh, pleasant air will return for the entire three day weekend.  High pressure will nose in leading to ample sunshine seasonable temps near 80 inland and 70s blanketing the coast.  The weak pressure gradient will promote onshore breezes so there may actually be a bit of a chill at the some of the beaches.  There will also be a subtle shortwave passing through on Sunday this will initiate cumulus cloud development, especially over the hills and there is an outside chance for a shower over the mountains because of it.  Other than that, the weekend will be dry and very nice so please enjoy.

Next week as we head back to work and school, the remnants of Isaac will finally reach the Northeast.  The pattern will be stalling so there is a good chance for some tropical downpours to work through Tuesday through Thursday making the middle of next week rather unsettled.
