Quincy Rejects Tilted Kilt Restaurant

QUINCY (CBS) - Quincy has rejected a restaurant whose waitresses wear skimpy outfits.

The Quincy Licensing Board turned down a request to locate a Tilted Kilt restaurant in their community.

The chain's owner wanted to locate the restaurant near St. John the Baptist Church, at the location of a former Outback Steakhouse.

The board initially approved the request, but two licensing board members reversed their decision after the church reverend testified against it at a hearing.

The first approval was made by the board before the church got a chance to weigh in.

Under law, a business that sells alcohol cannot be licensed within 500 feet of a school or church without notifying them. The Tilted Kilt would be closer than that from St. John the Baptist.
