BOSTON (CBS) – Hurricane Isaac has helped to send gas prices skyrocketing overnight.
The national average for a gallon of regular unleaded has jumped $0.05 since Tuesday, according to AAA.
The price increase is expected to be felt in Massachusetts.
A number of refineries in the Gulf of Mexico needed to shut down temporarily because of Hurricane Isaac.
Experts expect the price of gasoline to continue rising over the course of the next week.
