Patriots Blog: Showing The Love

BOSTON (CBS) -- Patriots defensive lineman Kyle Love has been a steady fixture on the Pats line for the two years that he's been with the team, and today he was rewarded.

Now entering his third year, the Pats have decided to give him an extension through the 2013 season. The contract was negotiated by his agents Richard Kopelman and Sean Stellato. They were happy to get a deal done.

"We appreciate the Patriots getting this deal done for Kyle," Kopelman told Mike Reiss. "In doing so, the Patriots recognized the significant contributions Kyle has made and most definitely will continue to make in the coming years. Kyle is appreciative of the Patriots for doing this at a time when they weren't obligated to do so."

The 6-foot-1, 315-pound Love was scheduled to become a restricted free agent after the season.
