CAMBRIDGE (CBS) – Two Cambridge firefighters were hurt on the job early Thursday morning.
WBZ NewsRadio 1030′s Bernice Corpuz reports
Flames broke out in the triple-decker on Columbia Street shortly before 4 a.m. and quickly went to three alarms.
Six police officers were in the area when the fire broke out.
They were the first to respond and helped all twelve people in the building get out safely.
Two firefighters were sent to the hospital with what are described as minor injuries.
One was hit by a falling piece of a ceiling. The other is being treated for a knee problem.
At one point the fire became so intense, firefighters were ordered out of the home. They continued to douse the flames from the outside.
There’s no word yet on a cause. Investigators believe it started in the back, possibly on the top floor.
