Charlie the MBTA mascot near Fenway Park.
BOSTON (CBS) – Charlie, the MBTA’s new life-size mascot, hit the streets of Boston on Wednesday.
Officials hope Charlie’s presence around Boston will promote the T and the use of Charlie Cards.
Charlie made stops at many Boston landmarks including Fenway Park, the State House, and the Swan Boats.
There is a new Charlie Card store in Downtown Crossing and Charlie will be making an appearance there this Saturday, August 25 from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m.
The character Charlie is based on a campaign song from the 1949 mayoral race.
