An over-height truck got stuck in the Sumner Tunnel.
BOSTON (CBS) – Part of the Sumner Tunnel was shut down briefly Tuesday morning because an overheight truck hit the ceiling.
Check: Traffic Updates
It happened at 11:15 a.m. near the entrance to the tunnel on the East Boston side.
One of the two lanes was closed for about half-an-hour.
There is some damage to the tunnel ceiling, but there was no structural damage.
The truck, a 2008 Freightliner owned by McCoy National Lease Inc. of Green Bay, Wisconsin, was towing a trailer owned by Primestar Trucking LLC of Postville, Iowa.
State police say they were alerted to the accident by workers at the highway department’s operations center who saw it happen via a video camera.
The tractor-trailer was removed from the tunnel after its tires were lowered by reducing the air in them.
