I-95 To Be Shut Down In Attleboro On Sunday While Crews Fix Power Lines

BOSTON (CBS) – There will be major delays on I-95 this Sunday as crews work to fix power lines that were hit by a tractor trailer on Thursday.

National Grid crews will close I-95 north and south in Attleboro from 5:30 am until 2:00pm Sunday to reinstall transmission lines. They will be working between exits 4 and 5.

Investigators say there was a problem with a utility pole that caused the lines to sag. The driver of truck that hit the wires, 45-year-old Joseph Irorere, was shocked and is recovering in the hospital.

Traffic was stopped for more than two hours on Thursday as crews cleared the roadway.
