Salem Reverses Dog Ban At Outdoor Restaurants

SALEM (CBS) - The dog days of summer of are back at restaurants in Salem.

The city's health department has established new rules that will let restaurant customers bring their dogs to outdoor patios.

Last month, the Salem Health Department told eateries like the Gulu Gulu Cafe and the Lobster Shanty that dogs were no longer allowed because of food safety regulations.

But after complaints, they came up with a new plan.

Under the new rules, dogs must be wearing a collar, there can only one dog per customer and there can be no dogs in laps or chairs.
