Celtics Release Preseason Schedule; Will Play 2 Games Overseas

BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Celtics released their preseason schedule for the 2012-13 season, which begins with two games overseas.

Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and company will open the preseason in Istanbul, Turkey on Friday, October 5 at the Ulker Sports Arena against Fenerbahce Ulker as part of NBA Europe Live 2012. Two days later, the Celtics will play EA7 Emporio Armani Milano at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan, Italy before returning to the United States.

The other six presason tilts will be against Atlantic division foes, with two games each against the New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets.

Only two of the Celtics home games will be played at the TD Garden, with the other one at the XL Center in Hartford, CT.

10/5: Celtics at Fenerbahce Ulker (Ulker Sports Arena, Istanbul, Turkey)
10/7: Celtics at EA7 Emporio Armani Milano (Mediolanum Forum, Milan, Italy)
10/13: Knicks at Celtics (XL Center, Hartford, CT)
10/15: Celtics at 76ers (Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, PA)
10/16: Nets at Celtics (TD Garden)
10/18: Celtics at Nets (Barclays Center, New York, NY)
10/20: Celtics at Knicks (Times Union Center, Albany, NY)
10/21: 76ers at Celtics, 7:30 p.m. (TD Garden)

The Celtics will open the regular season on October 30 against the Heat in Miami.
