CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — Police in Concord are investigating some hate-filled graffiti left on the home of an African family, similar to graffiti left on three other homes last fall.

The message discovered Sunday morning, like the ones left on the homes last year, was written in permanent black marker. It calls the residents “Third World scum.” Messages left on the homes last year referred to the occupants as “subhumans” and tells they aren’t welcome.

“We are not lost on the similarities,” Lt. Timothy O’Malley said. “We are certainly exploring that as a very strong possibility. The sentiment is just about the same … now we have something to compare,” he said, referring to the handwriting.

No one has been arrested in connection with the cases last year, which also were investigated by the New Hampshire attorney general’s office. The families targeted also are from Africa. They did not know each other well.

The message on the front of the home Sunday said, “The primitive beasts like those in this house are to blame for the crimes we now suffer. Love your legals, deport the rest.”

Police said the residents are in the country legally and that the department has had little to no contact with them.

Police are asking for the public’s help.

“We’re hoping that someone recognizes the writing, the sentiment, the language,” O’Malley said.
